The short version

What is Mighty K9?

Mighty K9 is a once-a-day liquid supplement for dogs. Each 2 mL serving is organic extra virgin olive oil with 1.6 mg of ESS60 and a bacon flavor, measured with the dropper and mixed into your dog's food.

ESS60 is a trademarked form of C60, a tiny hollow ball made of 60 carbon atoms (USPTO via Justia, ESS60). The sales page sells it for joint comfort, easier movement and less stiffness in older dogs. It is not a veterinary drug, not a pain reliever and not a treatment for arthritis.

Step by step

How do you give Mighty K9 to your dog?

Two droppers, one meal, every day. Scroll through the four steps; the picture follows along.

  1. 01

    Measure 2 mL

Fill the dropper twice (about 0.4 teaspoon). That is one serving, per the label.

  2. 02

    Drizzle on the meal

Drip it over kibble or wet food. The bacon flavor helps picky eaters take it.

  3. 03

    Mix it in

Stir so it coats the food. Give it at the same meal every day.

  4. 04

    Track 30 days

Note stairs, getting up and walks. Decide before the 30-day window closes.

What does the Mighty K9 label say?

  1. Brand

MIGHTY-K9 Canine Supplements, the brand name printed at the top of the label.

  2. Label art

A spaniel resting its chin on the panel. The same face is on the bottle.

  3. Serving and servings

Per 2 mL serving; servings per container 30. One bottle lasts 30 days at one serving a day.

  4. Crude protein (min) 0%

There is no protein. It is an oil, not a food or treat with nutrients beyond fat.

  5. Crude fat (min) 100%

Every drop is fat. That is why one serving carries 16.2 kcal.

  6. Crude fiber (max) 0%

No fiber, as expected for a pure oil.

  7. Moisture (max) <0.1%

Almost no water, which helps an oil keep.

  8. ESS60 1.6 mg

The only ingredient with an amount: 1.6 mg of ESS60 (C60) in each 2 mL, or 0.8 mg per mL.

  9. AAFCO footnote

“Not recognized as an essential nutrient by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles.” ESS60 is not a nutrient dogs need.

  10. Calorie content

  11. Ingredients

Extra Virgin Olive Oil, ESS60 and Bacon Flavor, in that order.

Dose check

How much ESS60 does your dog get per pound?

The same 2 mL goes to every dog, so a small dog gets far more per pound than a big one. The bars are drawn to scale.

  • Small dog 5 kg / 11 lb

    19%
    Your dog0.32 mg/kg

    Rat study1.7 mg/kg
  • Giant dog 40 kg / 88 lb

    2%
    Your dog0.04 mg/kg
    Rat study1.7 mg/kg

One 2 mL serving holds 1.6 mg of ESS60. We divided it by body weight and drew it to scale against the 1.7 mg/kg used in the 2012 rat lifespan study (Baati et al., 2012), the study most C60 marketing points to. That result was not repeated in mice (Grohn et al., 2021). Our arithmetic, not a dose recommendation.

What the bars mean for your dog

Every dog gets the same 1.6 mg, so the dose per pound drops as body weight rises. Even a small dog gets less than a fifth of the per-kilogram amount used in the 2012 rat study. No study has found the right ESS60 amount for dogs, because no controlled dog trial exists yet (Hui et al., 2023). Read what ESS60 is.

Calorie check

How many calories does Mighty K9 add?

Each serving is pure olive oil fat: 16.2 kcal. Vets want treats and extras under 10% of the day's calories.

  • 4 kg (9 lb) dog68% of the treat budget
Treat budget about 24 kcal a day · one serving 16.2 kcal
  • 10 kg (22 lb) dog34% of the treat budget
Treat budget about 47 kcal a day · one serving 16.2 kcal
  • 20 kg (44 lb) dog21% of the treat budget
Treat budget about 79 kcal a day · one serving 16.2 kcal
  • 30 kg (66 lb) dog15% of the treat budget
Treat budget about 108 kcal a day · one serving 16.2 kcal

WSAVA advises keeping treats and extras under 10% of daily calories and gives these approximate daily ceilings for healthy adult dogs (WSAVA, Feeding treats). The 16.2 kcal figure is printed on the Mighty K9 label. On a small dog, one serving uses most of the treat budget.

For a big dog, one serving is a small extra. For a toy breed, it uses most of the daily treat budget, so cut a treat or two to make room. Lean weight matters more for sore joints than any supplement: lean-fed Labradors in a lifelong study showed hip arthritis on X-ray at a median of 12 years instead of 6 (Smith et al., 2006).

Your dog's day

What time of day suits Mighty K9?

The label says once daily, mixed into food. Breakfast or dinner both work; the same meal every day works best.

A dog's day: a morning walk and breakfast with the 2 mL serving around 7:30, or the serving at dinner around 6:30 pm after an evening walk2461218
  1. Breakfast, about 7:30

Drizzle 2 mL over the morning meal and mix it in. One serving a day, per the label.

  2. Or dinner, about 6:30 pm

Evening works just as well. Pick one meal and keep it the same every day so you do not double up.

  3. Short, steady walks

Gentle daily exercise keeps joints moving and weight down. Lean weight matters most for arthritis.

  4. Count the calories

Each serving adds 16.2 kcal of fat. Trim treats a little so the daily total does not creep up.

The label and sales FAQ say once daily, mixed into food; the times are examples. Lean weight (ACVS, Osteoarthritis in Dogs); treat calories (WSAVA, Feeding treats).

Claims, checked

What does Mighty K9 claim to do, and what does the evidence say?

The four claims from the sales page, each beside the brand's own shield graphic and what published research actually shows.

Sales page says

Supports cartilage, connective tissue and joint comfort

What the evidence shows

No published dog study has tested C60 or ESS60 on joints. Across 38 joint compounds reviewed in 2022, omega-3 had the best evidence. (Barbeau-Gregoire et al., 2022) (Hui et al., 2023)

Not tested in dogs

Sales page says

Easier, more comfortable movement

What the evidence shows

The only C60 dog data used 6 beagles for 9 days, a different C60 oil and one blood marker. Nobody measured walking or getting up. (Hui et al., 2023)

Not tested in dogs

Sales page says

“172 times more powerful than vitamin C”, protects joint cells

What the evidence shows

No source is given for this number. The famous C60 rat lifespan result was not repeated in a larger mouse study. (Baati et al., 2012) (Grohn et al., 2021)

Not shown

Shield graphics are the brand's own artwork for its claims. Claims are quoted from the sales page; they are the seller's words, not ours.

What Mighty K9 does not do

It does not treat arthritis, relieve pain like a medicine, or replace a vet exam. Slowness to rise, limping and trouble with stairs are classic signs of arthritis pain (Merck Vet Manual, Osteoarthritis). Pain is often mistaken for normal aging, so an older dog that slows down deserves a checkup (AAHA Senior Care Guidelines, 2023).

More detail on the benefits page and in the results timeline.

Where it fits

What helps dog joints most, and where does Mighty K9 fit?

Veterinary guidelines rank the options. A supplement is an add-on, never the first step.

  1. Keeping your dog lean

    Strong

Lean-fed Labradors showed hip arthritis on X-ray at a median 12 years, versus 6 years for their littermates. (Smith et al., 2006) (ACVS, Osteoarthritis in Dogs)

  2. Vet-prescribed NSAIDs

    Strong

AAHA tier 1 for arthritis pain. Needs a vet: side effects include vomiting, ulcers and kidney or liver harm. (AAHA Pain Guidelines, 2022) (FDA, Pain Relievers for Pets)

  3. Omega-3 (fish oil) diets

    Good

82% of dogs on a 3.5% fish-oil food bore more weight on sore legs, versus 38% of controls. (Roush et al., 2010) (AAHA Pain Guidelines, 2022)

  4. Weight loss when overweight

    Good

Losing about 6% of body weight cut lameness in obese dogs with arthritis. (Marshall et al., 2010)

  5. Glucosamine and chondroitin

    Weak

    A 2022 meta-analysis found no pain-relief effect in 88.9% of trials. (Barbeau-Gregoire et al., 2022)

  6. C60 / ESS60

    Not tested

No controlled dog trial. The only dog data: 6 beagles, 9 days, another C60 oil, one blood marker. (Hui et al., 2023)

  7. Olive oil for joints

    Not tested

No dog joint study was found. Olive oil adds fat and calories. (Maina & Cox, 2025)

Bar length shows how much published dog evidence supports each option for joint comfort, based on the veterinary reviews and trials linked here. It is a reading aid, not a score from any one source.

If your dog is stiff, start with a vet visit, a lean body weight and steady gentle exercise. Ask your vet about pain medicine and omega-3 diets, which have the strongest dog evidence (AAHA Pain Guidelines, 2022). If you still want to try Mighty K9, it can sit on top of that plan. Read our senior dog joint guide.

Safety first

Is Mighty K9 safe for dogs?

For most healthy adult dogs, 2 mL of olive oil a day is a small amount of fat. The open questions are long-term C60 safety, which has not been studied in dogs, and the extra fat for dogs prone to stomach or pancreas trouble.

Who should ask a vet first, and why (brand warnings plus veterinary sources)
Your dogWhy ask firstSource
Has had pancreatitis or eats a low-fat dietEach serving is pure fat; recovering dogs are kept on low-fat food(Merck Vet Manual, Pancreatitis (owner))

Is limping or crying outPain needs an exam, not a supplement(Merck Vet Manual, Osteoarthritis)
Before you start

Mighty K9 is a supplement for dogs, not a veterinary drug. Ask your vet first if your dog has had pancreatitis, is on a low-fat or weight-loss diet, takes any medicine (including pain relievers), is under six months old, or is pregnant or nursing. Limping or crying out needs an exam, not a supplement. See side effects and safety.

Keep the bottle closed, cool and dark: C60 in olive oil breaks down in light (Grohn et al., 2021). If your dog drinks the bottle, call your vet or ASPCA Animal Poison Control at (888) 426-4435 (ASPCA Animal Poison Control).

FAQ

Mighty K9 questions dog owners ask most

Does Mighty K9 really work for dogs?

Nobody knows yet. No controlled trial has tested C60 or ESS60 in dogs; the only dog data is a 9-day study of six beagles using a different C60 oil (Hui et al., 2023). Some owners may try it inside the 30-day money-back window while their vet handles the proven basics.

How much Mighty K9 do I give my dog?

The label serving is 2 mL once a day, which is two full droppers or about 0.4 teaspoon, drizzled over one meal and mixed in. The brand does not publish a different amount by weight, so ask your vet about toy breeds and puppies.

What is ESS60?

ESS60 is a registered trademark of SES Research Inc. for C60 fullerene, a hollow molecule of 60 carbon atoms sold as a supplement ingredient (USPTO via Justia, ESS60). Each 2 mL serving of Mighty K9 has 1.6 mg of it dissolved in olive oil.

Is C60 safe for dogs?

Long-term safety in dogs has not been studied. A 14-day rat study funded by SES Research, which two authors co-own, found no harm (Burres et al., 2024), but a mouse study found C60 in olive oil breaks down in light into harmful products (Grohn et al., 2021). Keep the bottle dark and ask your vet.

How many calories are in Mighty K9?

Each 2 mL serving has 16.2 kcal, all from fat, according to the label. That is about two-thirds of a 4 kg dog's daily treat budget but only about a fifth of a 20 kg dog's (WSAVA, Feeding treats).

How much does Mighty K9 cost?

On October 11, 2026 the brand store listed one bottle at $64.99 plus $8 shipping, 3 bottles at $269.97 and 6 bottles at $539.94 with free U.S. shipping. At those prices the single bottle is the cheapest per bottle.

How long before I can judge Mighty K9?

The sales FAQ says owners often notice changes in two to three weeks and full results in eight to twelve weeks. That timeline comes from the seller, not a study, and it runs longer than the 30-day money-back window.

Can I get a refund for Mighty K9?

Yes, within 30 days. Call +1 (302) 200-3480 with your order ID; empty bottles count, and you pay return shipping. Orders placed directly on the brand store need a return number from [email protected] first (Mighty-K9, refund policy).
