What happens to ESS60 after your dog eats it?
Nobody knows yet. We found no published study that tracked how a dog absorbs, stores or clears ESS60.
What is known comes from other animals and other oils. A 2012 rat study reported longer lives with C60 in olive oil (Baati et al., 2012). A larger 2021 mouse study saw no lifespan gain (Grohn et al., 2021). Six beagles given C60 in grape seed oil showed a drop in one blood marker, CRP, over 9 days, with no control group (Hui et al., 2023).
What nobody has measured in dogs
- Joint cartilage, on X-ray or any other scan.
- How easily a dog gets up, climbs stairs or walks.
- Stiffness after rest.
- Safety over months or years of daily use.

Claims vs evidence
Is ESS60 really an antioxidant for dogs?
C60 can soak up reactive molecules in lab tests, which is where the antioxidant label comes from. Whether that happens in a living dog at this dose, and helps joints, has not been shown. The sales page says it is "172 times more powerful than vitamin C" but gives no source.

How much ESS60 does your dog get compared with the studies?
Every dog gets the same 2 mL, so the dose per kilogram shrinks as dogs get bigger.
A 5 kg dog gets 0.32 mg of ESS60 per kg; a 40 kg dog gets 0.04 mg per kg. The rat study used 1.7 mg per kg at the same 0.8 mg/mL strength (Baati et al., 2012).

Why does light matter for C60 in olive oil?
Light breaks C60 down. In the 2021 mouse study, C60 in olive oil left in light lost half its C60 in about 2 days, and that oil made mice ill (Grohn et al., 2021).
It is the one mechanism with solid data, and it calls for care, not hope. The label line "Store in a cool and dark place." matters more here than on most supplements.
